• The type of perfume you want to wear, as there are different types of fragrance concentrations, which determine the intensity and duration of the aroma on the skin and clothes. Perfume (parfum) is the most concentrated and long-lasting of the perfumes, followed by cologne (eau de parfum), eau de toilette and eau de cologne. You should choose the type of perfume according to your personal preference and according to the occasion in which you will use it.

• Your skin type influences the way the perfume develops and lasts. Oily skin tends to retain the aroma better, while drier skin needs to reapply the perfume more frequently. You should choose a perfume that suits your skin type and that enhances your natural scent.
• The olfactory family of perfume is classified into different olfactory families, which group aromas according to their characteristics. The main olfactory families are: citrus, floral, oriental, herbal, fruity, woody, floriental, chypre and fougère. You should choose an olfactory family that matches your personality, lifestyle, taste or mood.

• The olfactory notes of the perfume are the components that make up the perfume that reveal themselves over time. The olfactory notes are divided into three categories: top notes, heart notes and base notes. The top notes are the first ones you smell, right after applying the perfume. They are usually light and fresh, such as citrus, herbs and fruits. The heart notes are those that define the personality of the perfume, they are usually floral, fruity and with spicy notes. Base notes are the ones that give the perfume its base and depth. They are usually woody and oriental. You should choose a perfume that has olfactory notes that you like and that harmonize with each other.
